Circle window 明月院の丸窓
明月院 - 本堂裏の庭園
There are many temples in Kita-Kamakura to be fun to walk in the precincts surrounded by rich nature. Meigetsu-in is one of these temples. It’s also known as the temple of Hydrangea, which is very crowded in June by people seeing Hydrangea. But it’s also wonderful in December.
When I visited, it was a time of late autumnal leaves. I was able to look at the garden on the other side of the “round window” of the Hon-do (main hall). The garden is open to the public during autumnal leaves in November and irises in June.
Add to the garden at the back of the Hon-do and rock garden in front of the Hon-do, the precincts are wide, and good to walk around to see flowers and plants.
