Hase-Dera is one of the most popular places for sightseeing in Kamakura as well as Kamakura Daibutsu. There is a large parking lot, which can be parked by buses. A lot of tourists visit here. Inside Hase-Dera is very large and there are many points to see, and it’s a good place to visit.
Hase-Dera is a very old temple, which seems to be there from the Nara era, but the beginning is not clear. Passing the Sanmon, there is a beautiful garden with ponds. Going upstairs, then there is Jizo-do on the way. Jizo-do is a new building that was rebuilt.
Going up further, there are Kannon-do, Amida-do, Homotsu-kan (Treasure Museum), etc. Kamakura town and the sea are beautifully visible from here. There is a walking path that goes around a small hill. I enjoy visiting many times each season.
I’m overwhelmed by the size of Hase Juichimen Kannon-zo which is enshrined in Kannon-do.
