Joei-ji – Botamochi-dera

Located in Oomachi, on the way to Ankokuron-ji by route 311, turn left and go into a residential area.

It is a little but lovely nice temple. Joei-ji is also known as Botamochi-dera (temple of rice cake dumplings). When Nichiren was about to be executed at a place called the Ryunokuchi, num who lives here gave him Botamochi. Botamochi-dera is derived from this story.
