Ōfuna Botanical Garden is 1km from Ōfuna Station. Around Ōfuna Botanical Garden, there are some temples. Some of them have good precincts where plants are well-maintained.
Kujō-ji is located near a shopping mall in the Ueki area which is a short walk from the Ōfuna Botanical Garden. It is a Nichiren temple. It has beautiful plants. When I visited there, the double cherry was beautiful.
Backing toward the Botanical Garden, there are Enkō-ji and Teisō-ji. They are small temples, but both have beautiful plants.
Waking from Botanical Garden, after passing a tunnel, there is Ryūhō-ji. It has a temple gate that looks like Gokuraku-ji’s one. The main hall is the other side of a long approach. On both sides of the approach, you can see various plants and enjoy various flowers of the four seasons.
Back through the tunnel and go through the first path after exiting the tunnel, you can reach Gyokusen-ji. There is a statue of Kobo Daishi in front of the main hall. There is Jizo, called “greedy Jizo”. It means that this Jizo greedily wants to grant everyone’s wish.
